Dialogue Table on Public Policies, Rights and Autonomy

Invited by the Bolivian NGO Realidades, last 6 of November GES took part in a Dialogue Table on Public Policies, Rights and Autonomy during which it presented its three-year experience as the technical responsible for the Barcelona Human Rights Observatory. The aim of the Table was just sharing experiences and good practices that have influenced public policies focused on rights and was attended by representatives from both Bolivia and Catalan organisations.


Fieldwork; children participation in justice

This month, the fieldwork related to the research on child experiences when involved with the Spanish justice system has come to its end. About 30 boys and girls have been interviewed who have reported their perceptions about how the Spanish justice system has treated them when involved in civil or criminal proceedings as witnesses, victims or parties.


Agriculture and human rights

In the framework of the THB transnational project combating human trafficking with a purpose of labour exploitation, GES has just published a report about this phenomenon in the Spanish agriculture. In addition, a guide to know and respect the United Nations' principles in the Spanish agricultural enterprises has also been edited. Severe forms of labour exploitation

GES initiates in 2004 a new research for the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union,  together with MPDL and IED. In this case, the research is focused on severe forms of labour exploitation and on the supporting measures available to victims in the event of lodging legal complaints.
