The women

Women have been gaining an increasing importance in GES' research. In recent years, we have participated in a transnational project about gender violence suffered by migrant women (Break Through) and in another European project, Equalising Care, involved with looking for new ways to distribute the tasks related to the care for dependent people more equitably between men and women.

Still lately, women have been at the core of two European researches: the impact of the present economic crisis on gender equality in Spain, a research commissioned by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE); and the combat against female genital mutilation in the European Union (Replace II Project).
